On August 4, 2023, we were notified by the Historical Commission that the wording of our Historic Marker had been approved by the Black Heritage Council, and received a copy of the "mark-up" of the inscription.

It appears below in this pdf document.

We are so grateful for the participating of Dr. Alvin Thornton, who assisted us in ensuring that the wording of this inscription was thorough, pristine, and appropriately worded.
