A Necessary Part Of The Process
As a necessary part of the Historic Landmark Site process, we were required to approve of the wording on the Historic Marker, in writing. Mrs. Leann Trupp sent us the final draft for the wording of the marker in August of 2023. The attached documents shows our approval of the wording for the historic marker. This was the final step before the marker was actually ordered.

On August 4, 2023, we were notified by the Historical Commission that the wording of our Historic Marker had been approved by the Black Heritage Council, and received a copy of the "mark-up" of the inscription.
It appears below in this pdf document.
We are so grateful for the participating of Dr. Alvin Thornton, who assisted us in ensuring that the wording of this inscription was thorough, pristine, and appropriately worded.
